It is something of a paradox that those "Test your IQ, click here" links are actually a kind of an IQ test in and of themselves.

If you are thick enough to actually click on a link that thinks a " what number is in this circle" type question is found on an IQ test then you have no IQ.

Don't you get like a lot of points if you spell your name correctly...

I remember that IQ test

Not sure of those IQ tests but I did have a brain scan once - it came up negative! ;)

I was just watching the news and they were talking about the Yemeni governments attempts to counter terrorist cells within their borders.

They are fighting terrorism with shitty rap music, break dancing and a really shitty film aimed at teenage girls.

Why is it that the people that run the planet are retarded?

Why not educate your population, put what limited funds you have into schooling, community educational programmes or community support. If you have that large a discrepancy in the age gap of your country why do you have to play into the popular medias image of youth.

Why not talk to them like people, offer them a life, help or whatever they need. Don't give them shitty hip hop and 90210 styled teen dramas.

If terrorists are offering the youth a cause and something to believe in and their only opposition is empty headed pop culture mush you are going to have a hell of a fight on your hands trying to get them to listen.

If teachers instructed students to renounce things like suicide bombings and martyrdom, Al Queda would kill them.

That's a pretty strong disincentive.

appealing to kids with a cultural message might be safer.

I think that is just over-simplifying the situation.

The terrorists aren't all knowing and they aren't the brightest of people. The can't be everywhere, all of the time. Using that as an excuse is just lazy. They can't kill everyone that speaks out against them, no matter how many times they say they will.

Using holidays to escape the weather is not always a good idea.

My neighbours have been away on a skiing holiday for the last week and a half. While they were away they asked me to feed their cat for them. The day before yesterday I was walking over to feed their cat and as I opened their front door I could hear a most unusual sound.

The weather here has been extremely cold for the last few weeks, infact it is the coldest weather we have had for the last 40 years. We have had snow, ice and more ice, so the weather has been on the chilly side.

As I stamped the snow from my trouser cuffs I slid the key into their front door and just as the door swung open I swear it started to rain. I could hear a torrential downpour echoing through the empty streets. I looked over my shoulder but to my surprise I couldn't see a single rain drop, however once I had assured myself I was indeed hearing rain I turned to enter the hallway.

During the previous night the neighbours pipes had frozen solid and now the entire house was host to an extremely localized rainstorm. There was half an inch of water in the hallway and the sitting-room carpet was floating (every step rippled through the carpet as you walked around).

I went upstairs to check their water heater and indeed it had ruptured however, when I went into one of the bed rooms to check for damage I didn't notice that accompanying the rain in the house was a small river system that had made the houses electrical systems its home.

I turned on the light and to my surprise found myself doing a little dance. After my little jig I went downstairs to turn off the electricity to avoid anymore spontaneous outbursts of a theatrical nature among the other residents of the estate.

My neighbours were due home that night, can you imagine the situation? Sitting in an airport somewhere in France, mildly annoyed about the hour and a half delay to your flight but comfortable in the knowledge that soon you will be home and warm. Imagine getting the phonecall informing you that while you were away someone installed a swimming pool in your hallway.

If you think that is as bad as it gets I just have a single, solitary thing to add to this story.

When they left they had a hamster.

Welcome home, did you enjoy your holiday? Oh good. By the way your pipes burst, your house is flooded and your hamster is dead.

I fed your cat, here are your keys.
